Stripping of most timbers and even metal.
Beams - Stripping back old beams to their original state or introduce replacement beams which may need professionally ageing to create the effect that they have always been there. If you have the problem of a steel girder this can be concealed by being encased in three pieces of timber giving the impression of a solid timber beam. Once aged and coloured it would be hard to distinguish between that and an old original beam in the same room.
Floors - I try to ensure that the use of an industrial sander, unless the customer requires a crisp new look, is not an option. This ensures that I obtain a beautiful and rich appearance to the floors when they are finished. Replacement of floorboards and repairing badly damaged boards is a speciality. Age, distress and colour, with input from the customer, can then be added to ensure the floor looks as original as possible.
Minton tiled floors restored and repaired
Stairs - Many staircases over the years have been damaged by overpainting. These can be successfully stripped back to the original timber, see in the photo section, be it spindles or panels. Changing trends have meant staircases being re-styled, moving away from the original character of the property. These staircases can be restored. If you are unhappy with your present staircase for example perhaps you would like the panelling replacing with spindles to create a more stylish and beautiful feature this can be achieved to a very high standard. New null posts and handrails can dramatically change the appearance of a staircase. The possibilities are endless!
